Every way we can get your vehicle there

Open deck or enclosed, running or not, one car or a fleet. Find the section that matches your situation — or send us the details and we will tell you which one you are in.

Open carrier transport

The workhorse of the industry, and the right answer for most vehicles.

An open carrier is the multi-level trailer you pass on the interstate with eight or ten cars aboard. Because the cost of the run is divided between all of them, it is the most affordable way to move a vehicle — and because there are far more open trailers than enclosed ones, it is also the quickest to book.

Your car meets weather and road spray much as it would driving the route itself. For a daily driver, a lease return, a college move, or a relocation, that is a trade most people make without hesitating.

What you get

  • Widest availability and the shortest wait for assignment
  • The lowest cost per mile of any option
  • Suits almost every standard car, SUV, and light truck
  • Top-load position available on request for extra clearance

Enclosed transport

Hard walls, a lift gate, and soft straps for vehicles you would not park outside.

Enclosed trailers carry two to seven vehicles inside a sealed box. Loading is by hydraulic lift gate rather than a steep ramp — which matters enormously for low-clearance cars — and the vehicle is secured with soft nylon straps over the tyres instead of chains on the frame.

Expect to pay meaningfully more than open transport and to wait a little longer for assignment; there are simply fewer of these trailers on the road. For a classic, an exotic, a show car, or a fresh restoration, it is money well spent.

What you get

  • Complete protection from weather, dust, and road debris
  • Lift-gate loading for low-clearance and non-running vehicles
  • Soft-strap tie-down, never chains on the chassis
  • Higher cargo insurance limits available on request

Door-to-door delivery

Collection and delivery as near your address as the law and the truck allow.

Door to door is the standard in retail auto transport, and it means what it sounds like: the driver comes to you rather than to a terminal. The limit is physics and local ordinance — a 75-foot rig cannot turn into a cul-de-sac, duck a low branch, or legally stop on a great many residential streets.

Where that applies, you and the driver agree on a large, safe lot close by: a shopping centre, a big-box store, a school car park. We raise the possibility before you book, so it is never a surprise on the day.

What you get

  • No terminal drop-off and no storage fees
  • The driver calls ahead before collection and again before delivery
  • A nearby meeting point agreed in advance when a street cannot take the truck
  • Available on open and enclosed shipments alike

Inoperable and project vehicles

Non-runners travel perfectly well — with the right equipment and honest information.

A vehicle that will not start can still ship, provided it rolls, steers, and stops. It is drawn aboard by winch, which takes longer, needs particular equipment, and therefore costs more than a running car.

If it will not roll, will not steer, or has no working brakes, say so at the outset. That job needs a flatbed or a forklift at both ends, and a driver who turns up expecting a simple winch load will refuse it — which costs you a wasted visit and a rebooking.

What you get

  • Winch-equipped open and enclosed carriers
  • Flatbed arranged where a vehicle will not roll or steer
  • Routine for auction buys, restorations, and estate vehicles
  • Honest condition details keep the quote accurate and the collection on schedule

Dealer, auction, and fleet moves

Copart, IAA, Manheim, dealer trades, and standing lanes for repeat volume.

Auction and dealer work runs to deadlines the retail side never sees: gate release windows, storage clocks that start the day after the sale, and buyers waiting for a unit to reach the lot. We schedule against those dates rather than a generic pickup window.

For dealers and fleets moving vehicles regularly we set up standing lanes at agreed rates with a single point of contact, so a move becomes a message rather than a fresh negotiation.

What you get

  • Copart, IAA, Manheim, and independent auction collections
  • Dealer-to-dealer trades and lot balancing
  • Multi-unit loads priced as a group
  • Standing lanes and consolidated billing for repeat volume

Snowbird and seasonal relocation

South each autumn, north each spring, on the busiest lanes of the year.

Every October through December, tens of thousands of vehicles head from the Northeast and Midwest to Florida, Arizona, and Texas. Every March through May they come back. On those lanes, in those months, the price is set by how full the trucks already are.

The lesson is a simple one: book early. Three or four weeks of lead time on a snowbird lane routinely saves more than any amount of negotiating in the final week.

What you get

  • Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and the Northeast to Florida, Arizona, and Texas
  • Return legs arranged in the same conversation
  • Flexible release windows priced better than fixed dates
  • Scheduling that works around closing dates and lease returns

Motorcycles, powersports, and oversized

Two wheels, side-by-sides, and anything that will not fit a standard slot.

Motorcycles and powersports units travel in enclosed trailers on wheel chocks and soft straps, often alongside cars. Oversized vehicles — dually pickups, lifted trucks, three-row SUVs under roof boxes, extended vans — occupy more than one slot on a trailer and are priced to match.

Give us dimensions and modifications at the outset. A lift kit or an oversized tyre package can be the difference between a routine load and a truck that physically cannot take the vehicle.

What you get

  • Enclosed motorcycle and powersports transport
  • Lifted, lowered, and modified vehicles quoted on real dimensions
  • Dually pickups, extended vans, and three-row SUVs
  • Multi-vehicle household moves loaded together where possible

Not sure which

A quick way to decide

Choose open if…

It is a daily driver, a lease return, a used purchase, or a family move. That covers the great majority of shipments, and it gets you onto a truck soonest.

Choose enclosed if…

The car is rare, valuable, freshly painted, lowered, or simply irreplaceable to you. It is also the practical choice for anything with under four inches of ground clearance.

Ask us if…

It does not run, it is modified, it is heading somewhere rural, or you are working to a hard deadline. Those are the cases where the right answer turns on the details.
