About

Seven years in the trade, now under our own name

Milepost Vehicle Logistics LLC is an Ohio company arranging vehicle transport across the contiguous United States. Here is who we are and how we work.

Why we started

Anyone who has shipped a car has a version of the same story. A quote arrives that looks too good to be true. A week goes by with no carrier. Then the call: the rate has to rise, or the collection has slipped, or the person who sold you the shipment no longer works there.

That happens because a great deal of this industry sells the quote rather than the shipment. The number that wins the click is not the number that puts a truck under your car, and the gap between the two is where customers get stranded.

We spent seven years inside that industry before starting Milepost, which is long enough to know exactly which corners get cut and why. This company is built the other way round: we price from the carrier's side upward, we show you what the driver is being paid, and we would sooner lose a booking to a cheaper quote than win it with a number we know will not dispatch.

How we check a carrier

Before a driver is sent to your vehicle, three things are confirmed every single time:

  • Active operating authority. The carrier's FMCSA authority is current and in good standing, verified against the federal register rather than taken on trust.
  • A live cargo insurance certificate. We pull it and read it, limits and effective dates included. A lapsed policy ends the conversation.
  • A safety record we have looked at. Inspection and crash history, and how the carrier has performed on loads we have placed with them before.

Carriers who clear all three go into a network we return to. That network is the real asset of a brokerage — knowing which drivers actually turn up is most of the job.

What we are, legally

Milepost Vehicle Logistics LLC is a licensed property broker registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. We arrange transportation. We do not own trucks and we do not drive your vehicle ourselves. Every shipment is carried by an FMCSA-authorised motor carrier operating under its own authority and its own insurance.

As a licensed broker we hold the federally required surety bond, which exists to protect shippers and carriers when a broker fails to meet its obligations. It is a small detail that says something real: brokers who cannot get bonded cannot operate.

Seven years in this business teaches you that the quote is the easy part. Anyone can send a number. Putting a checked driver under the car on the day you were promised is the whole job. Milepost Vehicle Logistics

How we work

Three commitments we will hold to

We quote what dispatches

Priced against what carriers are accepting on your lane this week, with the carrier's share and ours shown separately. If a lane genuinely shifts before you book we explain why, rather than re-quoting you at the truck.

One agent owns your move

No handover from sales to dispatch to support. The person who prices your shipment books it, watches it, and answers when you write.

We give you the bad news early

Weather, a breakdown, a driver out of hours. You hear it from us when we hear it, not when you ring to ask where your car has got to.

Put those seven years to work

Send the route and the vehicle. We will come back with a number you can build a week around.
