Cookie policy
A short policy, because this site uses no cookies. Here is what that means, what the categories are, and what would change if that ever does.

The short version
This website sets no cookies. No analytics, no advertising pixels, no third-party trackers, and no consent banner to click away. We have written the policy out in full anyway, so you can see exactly what we would have to tell you if that changed.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store, so it can recognise your browser on a later visit. Related technologies do the same job by other means: local storage, session storage, tracking pixels, and browser fingerprinting. Where this policy says “cookies” it means all of them.
2. The four categories, and which we use
Cookies are conventionally sorted into four groups. Here is where Milepost stands on each.

3. Third parties
One third party is involved in loading this site: Google Fonts, which serves the two typefaces. Google Fonts does not set cookies, but it does receive your IP address as part of delivering the font files, which is a request your browser makes to Google. If you would rather it did not, the site remains fully readable with web fonts blocked.
There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no advertising tag, no chat widget, no payment script, and no embedded social media on this site.
4. How long cookies last
For completeness: a session cookie is deleted when you close the browser, while a persistent cookie carries an expiry date and survives until it arrives, or until you clear it. Since we set neither, neither applies here today.
5. Managing cookies yourself
You do not need to do anything for this site. More generally, every major browser lets you view and delete stored cookies, block third-party cookies, and refuse all cookies — usually under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking cookies broadly will break sign-in on many other sites; it will not affect anything here.
6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because nothing here tracks you, a Do Not Track header or a Global Privacy Control signal has nothing to switch off. If we ever add analytics, we will honour GPC signals and update this page before turning anything on.
7. If this changes
Should we add analytics or an advertising tag in future, we will update this page first, change the date at the top, name the specific tool and what it collects, and add a consent mechanism where the law requires one. We will not quietly start tracking behind an unchanged policy.
